What are your Windows XP End of Life plans?

RIP Windows XP

Hopefully you know by now that Microsoft is going to end support for Windows XP on April 8th,  the same goes for Office 2003, and I even saw a post that Microsoft will no longer provide Microsoft Security Essentials as a download (although not clear if updates will continue, or just new downloads?).

Across our partner servers, I did a quick check and found that we still have thousands of Windows XP computers (almost 30%), so am wondering what everyone is going to do?

I follow several message boards, and there have been conversations about XP computers running special equipment, and there is no way to run it on anything else…  I guess I understand that, and as long as they are not connected to the internet, it would reduce the chance of infection, but still leaves it open to infection from within….

For the rest of the world, it seems like a good opportunity for an upgrade!

Have you made a list of all of the outstanding computers, and reviewed it with your clients?  Are there plans to replace them before April?

Drop us a line and let us know how you are handling it.

Regards,  Chris.
